Schiestl´s small familiy chronicle
Founders and pioneers of Wohlfühlhotel Schiestl are my parents Maria and Gottfried Schiestl. To current standards they looked after their guestes in a rather small host company.
Experience taugt us children, what genuine hospitality really means. So it was obvious for us to involve our guests in our daily lives. In the evening we sat by the fire place, told stories and played music.
In the mean time our little house has become the Wohlfühlhotel Schiestl. But just as at that time the commandment of hospitality is still very high regarded with us.
Family chronicle
1927 the founder of the "Schiestl companies", Gottfried Schiestl, was born in "Dinkland".

Closeness to nature and the love for the homeland, the lovely Ziller valley, made us forget how hard country life really was.

Gottfried and Maridl
Both Gottfried and Maridl Schiestl grew up at Fügenberg as peasant children. At first Gottfried were pork dealer and later on a cattle dealer, that was before the family rebuilt the farmhouse into a boarding house and afterwards into a hotel. As the mayor of Fügenberg, from 1965 till 1993, Gottfried directed the way for the expansion of the Hochfügen ski area, while his wife Maridl together with four children, developed the hotel. In 1960 she was cooking for ten guests in the old farmhouse kitchen, while today her daughter Marianne welcomes 250 guests at the WohlfühlHotel Schiestl.
2010 Gottfried and Maridl celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary.
Marianne
Marianne grew up in the hotel and lives the hospitality with heart and soul. For a long time now she has been managing the WohlfühlHotel Schiestl with full enthusiasm and commitment and she is always there for her guests.
Meanwhile, Marianne has already five grandchildren.
